Mail configuration

From FusionForge Wiki
Jump to: navigation, search

E-mail configuration is done in 2 steps:

  • Basic e-mail configuration, such as SMTP relay : you need to configure this directly
  • Mail integration with mailing lists (@lists.yourforge.tld) and user aliases (@users.yourforge.tld) : automatically configured by FusionForge

Basic e-mail configuration

Postfix

The configuration is located in /etc/postfix/main.cf.

Check in particular:

relayhost = [smtp.yourprovide.tld]

Under Debian, you may use a configuration wizard:

dpkg-reconfigure postfix

For debugging purposes, you can check the current mail queue with:

mailq

and read one queued mail with (XXXXX is the queue number given by mailq):

postcat -q XXXXX

Exim4

The configuration is located in /etc/exim4/.

Under Debian, you may use a configuration wizard:

dpkg-reconfigure exim4-config

Mail integration with FusionForge

For lists and user aliases, FusionForge supports the following Mail Transfer Agents (MTAs):

  • Postfix : package fusionforge-mta-postfix
  • Exim4 : package fusionforge-mta-exim4

If you need to re-run the configuration manually, run:

  • /usr/share/fusionforge/post-install.d/mta-postfix/mta-postfix.sh
  • /usr/share/fusionforge/post-install.d/mta-exim4/mta-exim4.sh
